The Delmhorst RDM-3 is a pin-style meter that can be used for measuring moisture in wood. It is not designed for measuring moisture in other building materials. Its rugged build should stand up well to a lot of use. Its intuitive navigational keypad makes it easy to use with minimal reliance on the manual. It offers features that most other meters do not, including data storage and the ability to download data to a computer. Accuracy test results indicate that this meter has some limits, especially when MC falls below 8% MC.

Delmhorst J-2000 Moisture Meter Review

The Delmhorst J-2000 is a digital pin-type meter that can be used for measuring moisture in wood and other building materials. This meter is intuitive to use and has a rugged build that should stand up well to a lot of use. Accuracy test results indicate that this meter has some limits. Readings tended to be high when MC falls below 8% MC. Readings for some species, such as Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, tend to be low when MC is above 10%. In addition, the J-2000 does not maintain its accuracy when surface moisture is present.

Delmhorst BD-10 Moisture Meter Review

The Delmhorst BD-10 is an analog pin-type meter that can be used for measuring moisture in wood and other building materials. This no-frills, basic meter performed well in our accuracy tests between 8% to 20% MC. It does not maintain its accuracy when surface moisture is present. Readings also tend to be somewhat less accurate when MC falls below 8% or above 20%.

The Lignomat VersaTec uses an advanced microprocessor technology from Lignomat. Designed for maximum versatility, it comes with built-in adjustments for different wood species, bamboo, sheetrock and a reference scale for concrete and other building materials.It also offers three modes: pin mode, scan (pinless) mode with selectable measuring depths, and a relative humidity (RH) mode that measures temperature and RH. The calibration is internally checked before each reading for the pin and pinless modes and automatically adjusted as needed.
